Shark River Hills is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located within Neptune Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 United StatesCensus, the CDP population was 3,697.As of the census of 2000, there were 3,878 people, 1,509 households, and 1,106 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,782.5/km2 (4,610.2/mi2). There were 1,558 housing units at anaverage density of 716.1/km2 (1,852.2/mi2). The racial makeup ofthe CDP was 97.40% White, 0.57% African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.80% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.24% of the population.
